RUBEN TORRES – CUATRO, GUITAR, VOCALS

Ruben T. Torres Rodriguez (November 17th 1967 – September 10th 2012) was a Puerto Rican cuatro player and choral singer and an integral part of Pure Cuban Sugar. Born in Sevilla, Spain and raised in San Juan, Ruben was the ultimate utility musician and a notorious stickler when directing chorus rehearsals!! He did stints as a bass player with salsa acts Barrio Latino and Conjunto Alegre, played the cuatro with Caña Son and Los Borikuas and did guitars duties with the Yumatics.
